I saw an article about 2 years ago when dodge was contemplating producing something like that. Now they have. It is still a neon but...it could still beat the socks off my honda and many others. Now that just gives me more reason to get a turbo next year. Kudos to Daimler-Chrysler.

Badass car, but I think Honda need a heads up for their upcoming cars, they need to start putting factory turbos soon to keep up with the comptetion or we are gonna be left in the dust.

I think without a doubt this is going to change the compact car market. They are comparing the Neon to a WRX and a Lancer EVO "Wich we are finally getting!!!" I hear a Type R Civic in our future, if not Honda is doomed!

As much as i love my honda you really can't say honda is doomed without a civic type R. I hate to admit it but think about it, how many of us are going to go out and buy a brand new civic type r? We are the minority here, 95% of people that buy civics buy them because they're good on gas and great to tote the kids around here. Face it guys, we are not a big enough part of the market for them to give a flying rats ass about.

I saw it in Detroit....eh. nothing big. a fancy neon. don't be surprised if it get's tamed before relese. they're good at doing that still take it with a B16 equipped 4th gen easy

and they have to turbo charge to make power! is Honda the only company that can make power the good old fashion way??

Dodge: 204 hp, 2.4 liter. 83.3 hp per liter
Honda: 185 hp, 1.6 liter. 115.5 hp per liter!

a civic in decent condition costs from 2k to 6k at this point in time leavs us a little more cash to play catchup with I think. anyone know where I can get a SRT 4 badge for my stock LX i think it will double my "HP"

Ummm... am I reading this or does it only have 205bhp? For 40,000 AU$, you can get a WRX etc with about 20,000km on it. I know what I'd be getting Hell - you can get an ITR with 195bhp for that price - and that's NA.

Looks ok - a bit like a Hyundai Excel to me... compared to the new Civic (and CTR) it's a nicer looking package. But 40,000 bucks worth? Nah - I couldn't waste the money on it

i like it...good job chrysler! now just produce it!!!! jason, were you saying that a b16 4th gen would take one of these easily? the neon is ~a full second quicker 0-60 than a basically stock b16 4g would be! btw, have you guys seen some of the new GM 4 cyl designs? they have prototype's right now making 121hp/lt on 89 octane gas...they are fawking awesome....i dunno why they aren't in production..they've been in the testing department for almost 8 years now!!!!! why hide it from the world???
